Our 1-2-1 sessions are designed to be tailored to the specific needs of the participant and are arranged on demand at your convenience. You may either live in Perthshire or Stirlingshire or be visiting the area on holiday and want to make the most of your Scottish Highlands experience.
Sessions range from a 1/2 day introduction to a full days extended workshop. Some folk split a single full day into 2 sessions close together to allow some time to experiment before moving onto more advanced practices.
All workshops start with a theory introduction session before getting to grips with YOUR camera, the maybe heading out for practical hand's on experience in a location such as a local Loch or Rannoch Moor. Topics covered are as required by yourselves, it's basically your day to learn whatever skills that our time, the light and weather conditions will allow.
Typical subjects include basic and advanced creative camera control, image composition, understanding light, mastering focus and using lenses then finishing with a session uploading to a mac/pc and preparing for the web or print.
If you are a group or an individual with a specific requirement for training please contact me to discuss a tailor made workshop or series of sessions.

Do I need a posh high end camera ?
No, the workshops are biased towards the more creative aspects of photography so any capable camera can be used. We can however give advice in advance or on the day if you are looking to upgrade.
I am not very technically minded, will I struggle with the session ?
I hope not as the tuition is more creative than technical. We will not spend any more time looking at the camera menus than is absolutely necessary, I believe that photography is a creative medium !
The Scottish weather can be very changeable so what happens if I book a day but the weather does not favour location working,
No Problems, you may be surprised at what can be learned on dull days but we can reschedule anytime up to the night before without penalty.
What can the sessions include.
Creative camera control - getting the images you really want with your camera.
Landscape - understanding light and composition.
Using smartphone for capture and image editing.
Post production - fine tuning your image on pc ...and maybe your Tablet
