Fine art studio workshops For individuals who are wishing to create Fine Art works with photography in an artist’s studio environment.
We spend 1 or 2 days in an art studio using both natural and affordable lighting and explore how we can use our camera to create artistic images. The intent is to explore a personal style of expression through photography.
This workshop will appeal to both artists that want to extend their experience into lens based creations and photographers alike. Whilst some photographic experience will be an advantage the workshops will cater for relative newcomers to photography
The workshop is fairly loosely structured to allow group experimentation and for students to be lead by their own ideas and inspirations to help develop personal styles.
These workshops are split into 2 parts, either am/pm or day 1/day 2 depending on the depth of tuition required.
Mediums : Sessions will normally favour using digital cameras but analogue (film) work can be an option. This is a great way to slow down the pace of capture and shift the creative experience.
Sessions are currently arranged on demand throughout the year to suite individuals, please contact me to register an interest and for news of dates for 2017.
Fine Art Portrait and Figure work.
Sessions can include working with a model or a semi/full nude life art sitter if required. The model fee will be added to the session cost and we can work with your own sitter if suitable.
It is not uncommon to use the workshop participants for portrait work.
Workshop details :
Part 1: We start with looking at creative camera control and quickly move onto lighting various still life subjects using a range of techniques and seeing the effects of different light sources, lenses and filters.
The aim is to inspire students to see the potential in using simple and cost defective lighting, backgrounds and props to create individual images and to explore a personal style of image.
Part 2 : Practical work using various subjects and different lighting scenarios. This is where we may use a model or figure to explore working with a person or the human form.
We can finish by taking our captured images and preparing for web and print.
The specific content is dictated by you the participant.
These workshop are suited to 3 – 6 students and are arranged as demand allows, please enquire to register an interest
